Music of the Week #3

Before I leave for Texas, I wanna put the music post for the week.
To get into the mood for travelling, this week's music is "Romantic Flight/Roman Hikou" by HALCALI. It's one of their newer singles.

See you later!

Art Post of the Day #9

Today's art, or rather, the last art I'll be able to post till I get back from Texas, is for the song "SPiCa" by Hatsune Miku. I had an original version, but I redid it and called it the "Celestial Edit".

So, here it is!

Apologies, people!

I might not be too active until Thursday, because I'm packing up for my Texas trip. It's going to be kind of busy, so if you like my blog and don't see too many new posts I apologize. Thanks for reading my blog though!
(My audience tab tells me that I'm getting lots of views from Russia. That's an interesting thing to think about!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YA BLUE DORK

OMG OMG OMG OMG ALMOST FORGOT

Today is Sonic's freakin' 23rd birthday!! So, I made this art piece for him as a congrats!
I've loved Sonic since I was 7 (making that 7 years since I started loving him) and I can't believe he's this old. He'll be my favorite character forever.

Plus, he's just the most adorkable thing I have ever, ever, ever seen. >////<

Happy Birthday, Sonic the Hedgehog!

Tasukete Part 2

Now, here is the kanji for "Ame ga Furu Mae Ni":

Tasukete!

Hi, everybody! I need a favor.
I have this wonderful album called A Study in Blue by Millstones, and there were two songs I was really hoping to translate. I did a really rough translation of the songs, but if you're reading this would you mind hardsubbing it so I can make sure? If you could sub this entirely it'd be great.
The kanji for the first song, "Short Circuit", is here:

Darn...

Unfortunately, I'm still up, due to that stupid sound test giving me nightmares. So, I'll ramble a bit here.

#1: All my stories will be posted on here sooner or later, I'm just a lazy bum. ^_^' But, if you really want to read them, you can visit Patchwork Study on Figment.com.

#2: Due to my insomnia, I'm trying to woo myself to sleep through Hitsuji no Oyasumi × Hetalia. May the Lord bless you, Hetalia.

#3: I might be a little short on posts next week, because I'm heading to Texas to visit family. I'll be very busy so I hope I'll even have time to update stuff.

#4: Despite how much I love summer, in all honesty, I can't WAIT for September. Why? Sonic, of course! Sonic Boom will premiere on TV the first weekend of September (or so I've heard), and I hope I'll grab a chance to watch it. Plus, in Archie comics, Sonic the Werehog will make his comic debut! (IT'S ABOUT TIME, ARCHIE.) And I don't even care how they're characterizing people, I wanna see how this turns out. *sparkles* DOU DEMO II DESU YO~

All right, I'm done. Later, gators.

Random doodle before bed, guys!

Darn Junichi. Quit giving me the image of Sonic being a fantastic singer.
AND THEN I FIND OUT THAT KULULU AND WEREHOG-SAN ARE GOOD SINGERS TOO WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN...

Art Post of the Day #8

Today's art is the song artwork I made for the dubstep track "DTMer ni Shinchoku dou desu ka? Kiku to SHINU" (How Does a DTMer Progress? Listen and DIE) by Ocelot/Ginsuke.
I originally had a different version of this song artwork, since in my mind it felt like a sequel to "KUSOGE-". This was the original version:
However, I was bored one day and decided to redo it to make it look more like a video game gone horribly wrong (as I wanted KUSOGE- to look like a video game breaking down). The result was what I call the "Horror Version":
I added a blue screen of death, too.
So, yeah! Enjoy the creepiness!

Art Post of the Day #7

Today's art post is for the latest Music of the Week, "Izure Ayame Kakitsubata". This one took FOREVER but I'm glad it came out well.
(OK, mostly I was trying to shake off the fear from seeing a rather creepy Sonic CD sound test thingie but whatever I liked making this.)

Art Post of the Day #6

Today's art post is for Vocastep song "TOKOSHIE", translated to English as "ETERNITY". There was a first version I made of this artwork, but I like the Redux version much better. Plus, Sonic's sword is freaking awesome.
I put some trivia in there, BTW. The symbols on Sonic's sleeves are actually a symbol for "air", referencing his "wind" techniques. ^_^

Enjoy!

Music Post of the Week #2

For this week, the featured music is by one of my favorite Vocaloid producers--Millstones! Earlier today he uploaded an entirely new song after more than a month of inactivity, "Izure Ayame ka Kakitsubata". It's freakin' gorgeous.

Have a nice day! The Daily Art Post will be up later!

Art of the Day #5

Today's art post is the cover art for my latest oneshot story, Tomorrow, Before the Rain. It's a small reflection story that can be read here:

Anyways, here is the art! ^_^

Art Post of the Day #4

Today's art is my latest version of the song "ALICE HUMAN SACRIFICE".

I LOVE this piece, I'm very proud of it, but DEAR LORD does it take a lot of work. I have draw it out, then edit it (which means darken the colors, brighten the eyes, put in a border, add in all the blood and then put the caption) which leaves me a little tired after making it.
It's worth it, though. Haha XD

Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary, Fern!

Today is my original character Fern Midori's anniversary/birthday!

Fern was the first character I had ever created, all the way in 2010, but she was scrapped along with an old series I had planned to make. But, when 2012 came along, I revived her to be my first original character.
So, here is her birthday pic! *claps* From left to right are her 2014 design, her 2012 design and her original 2010.

Art Post of the Day #3

Today's art is Colors, a pic that shows each respectable character of mine in their signature color. This was the first time I did completely colored work and design. Lineless, no? XD

So, the characters in the picture are as follows (left to right):

Milkshake Milky is Red
Blackberry Utsubyou is Blue
Himawari Hanabira is Yellow
Fern Midori is Green
Bubblegum Sweet is Pink
and Ryn is Purple

^_^ Enjoy!

Such a dork!!

Sorry about the inactivity--I planned to post sooner but my computer wasn't working. But, I'm here now!

Um...so! I have made a tiny oneshot writing exercise yesterday, because I only had my tablet to play on. It can be read here:
http://figment.com/books/799328-Treasure-Troubles

I wish I could give it a better picture, but I couldn't find anything I actually wanted. Aw, well!

OK, to let everybody know now, Music of the Week Posts are EVERY WEDNESDAY. OK? OK! ^_^
Art Post of the Day will be uploaded soon. I'm so behind!

Staging Wednesday Chap. 1 - Wednesday's Dream

Wednesday trekked lazily into the drama room.
It was no secret that Wednesday despised school. Sure, she was actually a wonderful student and often got top grades, but she still hated it. She didn't see the point of having to get up in the early hours of the morning just to go to a shabby building and be forced to learn English and math.
However, there was only one class that made Wednesday even tolerate coming to school, and that class was drama. Here, she could act out her dreams.
She took a seat in the front row, like she always did. As she sat down, a girl with jet black hair in pigtails plopped down next to her. "Hi, Wednesday!" the girl said cheerfully.
"Hi, Haruka," said Wednesday, smiling slightly. Haruka was Wednesday's best friend, a Japanese-American who was fascinated by voice acting and the art of making grilled cheese sandwiches (Wednesday never really understood that).
The two talked about random matters as students filed into the room, but things took a turn when Haruka mentioned their drama teacher, Ms. Labelle, had said she had an announcement.
"What kind of announcement?" asked Wednesday cautiously. Everybody knew Ms. Labelle's announcements usually ended in trouble.
"I don't know," replied Haruka. "But I overheard her telling the math teacher that she had something "new and creative" planned, and that she knew "the perfect person, the chosen one" that could pull it off." Haruka, despite her slight Asian accent, imitated Ms. Labelle's voice to perfection.
Before Wednesday could comment, the bell rang and class began. Ms. Labelle dramatically opened the curtains and stepped out onto the stage, facing the 30 wide-eyed faces before her.
"Good morning, everyone!" said Ms. Labelle.
"Good morning," said the class.
"First of all, I'd like to congratulate everyone on last week's performance," said Ms. Labelle. "Even if it did not go perfectly as planned, I am still very proud of you for keeping calm and carrying on, so to speak."
The kids looked at each other. It was true--the last play that was put on by the class was called "The Chinese Wonderland", which was about a lost princess who ends up in a strange other kingdom and is chased by jiangshis or whatever. The point was, that a kid who was playing a jiangshi accidentally hopped off the stage, and one girl tried doing a stage dive during a musical number. It definitely wasn't the best night ever, especially to Wednesday, who had spent half the play putting a hand to her face.
Ms. Labelle continued, "However, that is behind us now. Our next project will be another original act, which will be put on by a mystery person. I will not tell you that yet. Anyways, let us begin our acting practice."

*****

After at least 30 minutes of doing random monologues on the stage, the bell rang and class was dismissed to lunch. The class almost stampeded out, including Haruka (she knew there would be Panini sandwiches for lunch).
Before she could exit, Ms. Labelle called Wednesday to her desk. Wednesday nervously walked to her teacher's office, wiping her sweaty hands on her coat.
"Hello, Wednesday," said Ms. Labelle calmly.
"H-hello, Ms. Labelle," said Wednesday, her voice shaky.
"Do not worry, you're not in trouble." Wednesday relaxed a bit. "I have a very important task for you."
Looking into Wednesday's deep blue eyes, Ms. Labelle said, "I would like you to produce the drama class's next performance."

Music Post of the Week #1.5

I have to go to school one more time, and summer vacation will begin! Before I leave I want to post the second song of the week.
So, the second song will be "Otsukare SUMMER (Good Job This Summer)" by HALCALI. HALCALI is a popular rap group who has been doing wonderful songs since '03! Here's the video!

Adorkable Sonic has returned!

One more post before bed!
Sonic fans, did you guys see the latest Sonic Boom TV trailer? I loved it, I can't wait for the series to arrive! But, the thing that made me laugh the most was...

..."EVIL HAM."
Can't help it, that was hilarious. Anyway, that's all for today! I'll post more tomorrow since it's the last day of school. Later~

Music Post of the Week #1.0

Now, I shall introduce the music posts! These are songs I nominate to be the theme for each week! This week will get two songs since this is summer vacation we have coming up, and I want to have a normal song and a summer song.
So, for the normal song we have "Antithesis Junk Girl" by HITORIE. Let's say I was excited when this came out because HITORIE's main vocalist is wowaka, the Vocaloid producer who made songs like "Rolling Girl", "Two-Faced Lovers", "World's End Dancehall" and "Unhappy Refrain". He's a good vocalist!
Here's the video!

Art Post of the Day #2

Today's art post is a promo poster for my original mystery series, The Adventures of November York. The series follows the adventures of a detective named November York (who is essentially myself) as she solves mysteries with her friends codenamed Chip, Bubbles, Sketch, Blue and Rom. Rom didn't make it onto this poster when I made this picture, but he still deserves an honorable mention. All the characters are expies of my friends and family.
The last day of school is tomorrow! Whoopie! ^_^

Art Post of the Day #1

Today's art is piece #1 for the trance song "Another Girl" by the simply amazing DJ PON-3.

Here is the art!
And here is the song that it is based on. I don't think the lyrics are right, but it was the best I could derive from the vocals. Sumimasen! ^_^'
Anyway, that's it for today! See ya tomorrow, guys!

Wednesday's Day Chap. 1 - Sunday

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
The days of the week make up the months of the year. Each day has a name, and so do the months.
But why don't the weeks of the month have names? They occur all the time, like the days and the months. Even then, what would the weeks be called? Firstweek? Mayweek? Overweek? Something of that nature?
That's what Wednesday Gretzky was wondering as she sat on her bed one rainy Sunday morning. Like that was a surprise. It rained every day. Only 80 days out of 365 were actually bright and sunny. Willows, Oregon was just not a sunny place.
Wednesday wondered about that, too. Willows was very appropriately named. One, because it was constantly raining and wet. Two, because of the rain, there were a lot of weeping willow trees around. Heck, Wednesday's house was just a hop and skip away from the woods, which was made up of weeping willows. And three, it was so green the town itself could remind you of a willow.
To the average person, living in such a soupy, sleepy place like Willows would be a dreadfully boring experience. But no. It was Wednesday's home.
Wednesday had been born in Willows. Her family was a funny bunch--she had a mom, and a dad, a big brother named Silver and a little sister named Yume (pronounced yoo-meh). She was the middle child, of course. No surprise there.
Of course, it contributed to her rather unique name: Wednesday. She had this name because her parents were so busy trying to gather materials for their new baby that they had no name for her when she came. But, because she was the second child and it was a Wednesday the day of her birth, her parents decided to name the little girl Wednesday.
Wednesday was often teased for her name. Everyone admitted that was pretty in a way, but it was a bit too...out there. Wednesday was supposed to be a day in the week, so nobody had even known that someone could be named Wednesday. So, many kids pestered her for it, asking why exactly she was named such. She either told them or replied with a snarky comment.
It didn't help that she was abnormal in almost every way: her hair was an odd, ashy color, her eyes were dark ocean blue and her skin was pale like ivory. She had a wide assortment of hats that she never went out without wearing. She loved eating fruits and vegetables and was a regular coffee drinker. She knew how to play a bassoon. She read books on how certain foods reacted to chemicals. She knew how to speak and read Russian fluently. She despised sports. She drew pictures of caterpillars and frogs in her notebooks.
She just was not...usual.
Wednesday yawned and looked at the clock on her desk. 6:45.
She rolled her eyes and opened the window the slightest crack, so that the sound of rain quietly filtered in. Then, she dragged herself back to her bed and curled under the covers, going back to sleep.
